Fibrous aspect accentuated on the tangential face, due to the prominence of the axial parenchyma, fibers and vascular lines. Interlocked grain, coarse texture, absent shine and imperceptible odor.<\/p><p><strong>DENSITY:<\/strong>\u00a0medium density wood, with density at 12% moisture of 710 kg\/m3 for <em>H. petraeum<\/em> and 770 kg\/m3 for <em>H. modestum<\/em> and green density of 1,190 kg\/m3 for both species.<\/p><p><strong>DRYING:<\/strong>\u00a0very fast in the oven, showing a slight tendency to twisting and bending, in drying program 4.<\/p><p><strong>WORKABILITY:<\/strong>\u00a0easy to work with. Regular to good finish on planer, lathe and drill.<\/p><p><strong>DURABILITY:\u00a0<\/strong>heartwood very durable to durable when exposed to white and brown rot fungi, and moderately resistant to marine borers. Resistant to dry wood termites.<\/p><p><strong>PRESERVATION:<\/strong>\u00a0sapwood very easy and heartwood difficult to preserve with creosote and CCA-A, under pressure treatment.<\/p><p><strong>USES:<\/strong>\u00a0civil construction, furniture and others.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Angelim Pedra Hymenolobium elatum Ducke.
